If your WordPress is up-to-date, then you’ve probably seen the Gutenberg Block Editor, and you’re probably also familiar with widgets, which have been a part of the system since the beginning. Recently in version 5.8, WordPress changed the widget screen into a big Gutenberg Block Editor screen!
It’s interesting to see how you can use all the same blocks as with other posts and pages, allowing you to edit the widgets sections like a blog post.
However, our theme framework, Genesis, has taken the liberty to turn this off by default.
So I’ve added a switch for people to turn it on and off. If you order a 498! site after the publish date of this post, they you will have that option.
